Titans

Magaly Barnola-Otaola crea una visión más amplia del hombre y la máquina. En una re-concepción ampliada del tema, reflexiona sobre el poder de la ciencia y su progreso. En “Astronauta I” (2011), Magaly Barnola-Otaola creates a broader vision of man and machine. In an expanded re-conception of the theme, she reflects on the power of science and its progress. In “Astronaut I” (2011), Barnola presents the viewer with a solemn figure of an astronaut. A profuse crossing of lines and shadows outlines his sober face. He stands on a vast territory of imaginary maps and landscapes marked by bands and tension points. It is the projection of man on his cosmos, his ascension to the sidereal earth through the power of the machine. The Astronaut represents the maximum evolution of the binomial conjunction man/machine. The superlative intelligence of man is equal to the absolute power of the rocket.
